Description
Sideoats Grama (Bouteloua curtipendula) is a short warm season, perennial native grass found throughout much of the United States and adapted well in Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas. This intermediate stature native grass is an important species with many uses including erosion control, grazing, ornamental arrangements, and larval host for at least five species of skipper moths.
The El Reno variety:
- Outstanding leafiness, forage production, and vigor
- Sod forming, spreading with rhizomes
- Long-lived
- Reaches heights of 2 ft and blooms with the basal leaves reaching up to 1 ft.
- Blooms July to September.
