Erosion Control Seed Mix Downloadable Guide: Erosion Control Mix Composition Info
Dry + Medium Soils / Full to Partial Sun
This native prairie grass seed mix is designed to manage erosion by literally getting to the root of the problem. With their extensive root systems, grasses act as a natural erosion control blanket by creating the infrastructure for healthy, stable soil while also allowing water to flow over the landscape rather than carrying it away. For this reason, this plant seeds mix contains a high percentage of prairie grass and sedge, in addition to wildflower seeds.
This mix keeps your soil intact just how an erosion control mat would. There’s no need for an erosion blanket or mat with this mix!
Deer resistant, good for dry/poor nutrient soil, contains forbs and grasses, attract pollinators, and provides shelter for small animals. This is the best erosion control mix you can plant on your property with water runoff, steep slope, creek bed, and more! Best suited for Zones 4 – 8.
Always consider the size of the planting area when choosing prairie grass seed mix for your project. Establishing a native prairie community from seed may take up to 3+ years. The root systems establish themselves first, and then the plants start growing above ground towards the sun. All custom designed seed mixes are subject to change depending on the availability of species.
