Named after the famous redbird of the Midwest, the Cardinal flower (Lobelia cardinalis) are perennial wildflowers with bright red blossoms that cluster around a central stalk. This member of the bellflower family has a long, tubular shape that attracts hummingbirds and butterflies which serve as pollinators as they feed on the nectar.
