Upright Prairie Coneflower (Ratibida columnifera), also known as Mexican Hat, is a native perennial forb from the aster family distinguished by a central elongated flower disk surrounded by drooping yellow or red ray flowers.

  • This plant feeds a variety of birds and mammals, as well as livestock.
  • It is drought tolerant with its deep taproot.

Upright Prairie Coneflower grows 2-3 feet tall and blooms during the summer months, producing seed heads that mature in September and October.
